Center for Dispute Settlement provides mediation for youth who are experiencing conflicts with other youth, parents, and other adults to negotiate solutions for these conflicts and prevent involvement in the criminal justice system. Training may be provided in violence prevention and school peer mediation.

Specially trained Sheriff Deputies work with youth who become involved with the Juvenile Justice System. The deputies investigate juvenile crimes, divert cases from Family Court, maintain records and statistics on delinquency and victimization, participate on committees that work on children's issues, and educate children on safety, substance abuse, and other relevant topics. They also provide D.A.R.E. Programs in various schools throughout the county.
