The GVHP-Rx Prescription Discount Card is being phased out and replaced by the Livingston County Prescription Discount Card. You may still continue to use the GVHP-Rx PRescription Discount Card until you pick up a Livingston County Prescription Discount Card at a participating pharmacy or any county office.
Program Provides Discounts Up to 20% on Brand Name Drugs, Up to 70% on Generic
Livingston County Chairman of the Board, James M. Merrick is pleased to announce the Livingston County Prescription Discount Card, which will be provided free of charge to all county residents through a partnership with ProAct, Inc., a Pharmacy Benefit Management Company.
“We are pleased to partner with ProAct on this prescription program,” said Merrick. “This is a great benefit for all county residents, but will be particularly valuable for individuals and families who are uninsured and underinsured. The discount cards are a no-cost, no-hassle way to save money. As soon as you receive your card in the mail, you can begin using it at most pharmacies.”
The cards will provide users with discounts ranging from 10 to 20 percent on brand name drugs and 20 to 70 on generic drugs. While the program will be of most benefit to residents lacking prescription drug insurance and seniors paying out-of-pocket expenses for the Medicare Part D coverage gap, all Livingston County residents, regardless of income or age, can use the card. ProAct will mail discount cards to residents’ homes. Discount cards will also be available at participating pharmacies and many county offices.
Using the card couldn’t be easier. Simply present the card to the pharmacy along with a new prescription or refill to receive savings. The card can be used at most pharmacies in the county and at over 56,000 pharmacies nationwide. One discount card may be used for all family members and can also be used for discounts on pet medications. There are no enrollment forms, membership fees or income requirements.
Residents should contact ProAct directly with any questions at 1-877-776-2285 or visit their website at www.proactrx.com.
