What is Simple Steps?
It is a physical activity initiative for member worksites of the Genesee Valley Health Partnership. It is designed to be very easy for employees to participate in, and very easy for worksites to implement. We would like employees to look at their current level of activity and set their goals accordingly-goals that are challenging but reasonable. Our goal is for employees to be able to increase or maintain their physical activity level so that they can enjoy the benefits of...

30 Minutes A Day!
The Simple Steps concept is, quite simply, simple!
30 Minutes A Day
10 minutes in the morning
10 minutes at lunch time
10 minutes when you get home
Does this sound like something that you could resolve to do? Absolutely! The Surgeon General’s recommendation is that Americans get 30 minutes of exercise per day, five days per week. This recommendation does state that the activity does not have to be 30 minutes at a time. In Simple Steps, you...

What is Your Wii Fit Age? (aka Do You Wii-lly Want to Hurt Me?)
If anyone has a Wii, there is a little "test" you can take where hitting a baseball, returning tennis balls, and throwing a bowling ball magically gives you your Wii Fit Age.

You can call me Granny!

Okay so this is not the best source but from Wikipedia: Wii Sports also features a fitness test that calculates a player's fitness age. The test gauges the player's performance in three randomly chosen challenges from the training mode. Calculating the fitness age takes into account a player's balance, speed, and stamina. The test itself can only be taken once a day per Mii. Fitness age results are graphed over one, two, or three months, with daily results posted on the Wii Message Board

Mine has varied greatly since I got the Wii. Amazingly, without the weight of an actual bowling ball, and the fear of falling as I hit the line, and the problem of the whole walking and swinging the arm with an actual object in it...I can bowl! However in the fit age test, they give you a few pins to hit and sometimes that's a little harder.

I can return the tennis balls pretty happily, but like everything else I forget that speed is part of it. I'm not much with time, so I will need to remember this for tomrrow's test.

Worst of all for me is hitting a baseball. This may help to keep my Wii fit age - well, at a good point for more goal setting. I stand there ready to hit the ball...and...think maybe I shouldn't be allowed to drive with this eye-hand coordination!

Anyone have a Wii-lly great score?
