Celebrating 10 years of continued collaboration!

From 2001 to 2011 the non-violence and anti-bullying initiative has grown beyond the initial expectations. Starting with a pilot program in just two grade levels to currently teaching over 3500 student’s the social emotional skills they will use throughout life. This initiative has grown each year, (despite funding challenges) and gains momentum from the hands on success teachers and schools see from the implementation.

After ten years of implementation this table shows which schools are participating in Second Step as well as other social emotional learning opportunities.

In the past decade each school has succeeded and overcome challenges to implementing social emotional programs. Part of a great program implementation model is using those mistakes to adjust current practice and creating desirable outcomes.
