Eat Smart New York

We provide nutrition education to individuals and families receiving or applying for food stamps, WIC, and Medicaid as well as families with children in Head Start. We offer the program in cooperation with the Department of Social Services (www.co.livingston.state.ny.us/dss.htm).
Eat Smart New York (ESNY) is free, and it is carried out in a series of 8 classes to help families build healthy eating and active living habits that fit into their daily lives. Nutrition educators meet with families either in group or individual settings.
When families finish the program, they will know how to:
Shop for the best quality food
Cook tasty foods
Plan nutritious meals
Stay in shape
Keep food safe to eat
